Classical Twist from Disney!

Tron : Legacy, sequel to the 1982 film, Tron is a 2010 science fiction film produced Walt Disney Pictures.

The plot is virtually identical. A young computer whiz gets sucked into a digital universe via a laser that looks like the shrink ray from Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. Then he must get out of that digital universe before a a maniacal bad guy blows him to bytes.

Only this time around our protagonist is Sam Flynn, son of Kevin Flynn, a troubled rich boy in search of his missing father. That’s pretty much the only difference.

Tron: Legacy refuses to stray too far from the traditional quest story structure which made the original Tron so dull, which is a shame, because that is its only weakness.

Anyway, what I want to share here is the music!
The film score was composed by the Electronic Duo Daft Punk. The blend of orchestral and electronic elements made the movie filled with classical twist. At first I thought it'd be a typical sci-fi movie with those techno songs but this, it's a great one. I got awed when I heard the intro background music.

KOF : Yet another adaption

King of Fighters, one of the common fighting games received a movie adaption.
Yes, yet another one.


Tekken, right after "The Legend of Chun-Li" had been atrociously besmirched.

Tekken producer, Katsuhiro Harada expressed his dissatisfaction in an English language twitter by stating :

“That Hollywood movie is terrible. We were not able to supervise that movie. (It was cruel contract.) I’m not interested in that [movie]. Please don’t ask me about that movie. We did not have the supervision right. I don’t want talk about that.”

For the fans out there, you may tremble in desperation and once you look the featurette for this upcoming movie, just makes anyone think… Where is our savior?!



Yea and so said the actors and actresses, "a must watch movie!" :)

The characters obviously don't match the 2D characters. I mean, come on! Even the cosplayers out there are much more similar than these "professionals".

When this madness will stop?
I just don't understand why are they so persistent in producing such film adaptions.
I hope that someone from Hollywood can understand the original source and make a good adaptation movie.
Else, they might as well just do nothing at all and just stay at home playing the games instead.

The Dream is Real

From the director of The Dark Knight, Inception. I usually watch the trailer first to get some idea about the movie but I wasn't even aware of this movie till my friend talked about it like few days ago. I kinda have a limited access to news now especially for those entertainment sections. Busy with my new uni life. Anyway, I went to watch this movie without knowing what it is about. Knowing the who's the director and the main casts of this movie is enough to make me go for it without thinking twice.

For a sci-fi fan like me, I'm very amazed of the originality of this movie. Leonardo DiCaprio who plays the role of Dom Cobb, an extractor who specializes in reading people’s minds by lurking in their dreams. In Inception, technology has been developed that allows dream-sharing. With dream-sharing, Dom used this as an advantage to extract information in dreams. Being the best extractor,it made him the most wanted man in the world of corporate espionage. However, things took a turn when businessman Saito, offered him to do the reverse of extraction, Inception.

For those who does not have any sci-fi background, you might have difficulty in trying to understand certain concepts like paradox. Nolan however, was able to make this movie easier to understand. 2 thumbs up for him! :) The thing about this movie is that you have to pay attention on every part to fully grasp the idea and the story-line. The movie actually made me pondered throughout and I'm still now. lol Couldn't get it off from my mind yet. xD

The actions on the other hand are simply awesome. I would say, it's not full of actions but for it's definitely satisfying. Oh, I like Eames. :D, one of the characters in the movie. You should pay attention to what he says. It did somehow reflect on me. X)

When I first saw this scene in the movie, the first thing that came through my mind was "Matrix?". The zero-gravity concept, though it's another idea by itself is somewhat similar to what we watch in Matrix.

Anyway, I think they did not explain about the technology used to connect into people's dream or did I missed that part?

I normally don't give high ratings for a movie but for this, I have to give it 4.6/5, which makes it the best movie I have watched. Truly amazing, a must watch movie in cinema!

Kick-ass kick ass!

Here we are, our new friendly neighborhood "green condom" superhero, Kick-Ass!


Big-Daddy (Batman), Hit-girl, Kick-Ass(Middle), Red Mist(Top right)

After reading about the reviews on the movie; how funny it is, I said to myself, "Why not I give it a try?". I was able to persuade few of my friends to go with me. Kheng Ling especially, the guy with his infamous phrase "No money!"

At first, during the first scene on the hero wanna-be guy I actually doubted whether I made the right pick on the new movies. For a start, it didn't go well for me. Anyway, after Kick-ass first appeared, I started to get engaged on the movie. I'm actually amazed on how the story develops. I mean, it's much more realistic; don't mention about the hit-girl doing 360 degree turning kick compared to recent superhero movies like X-men, Spider-man.

Anyhow, I didn't realize it was actually a 18PL movie till I watch it. xD When Hit-girl first appeared; with the theme song, I was like, "Is this supposed to be a cartoon?" Seriously, I don't think the song fits it. It's more to a cartoon tone. Again, like any 18PL movies, there's violence here and there. When Big-Daddy, the "batman" guy and Kick-ass were both captured and tortured, I actually somehow felt the sensation; ouch!

I'm not gonna review long on this.
If you prefer much more realistic superhero movies like Watchmen, or maybe you like Kill Bill, Ninja Assassin, you can give it a try.
So, to end it, I'm gonna give it one thumb up for the movie! They cannot be invincible but they can kick yer arse!
